Gayatri Gamuz
Gayatri Gamuz is an artist based in India, where she lives and works on a farm at the foot of the sacred hill of Arunachala in Tiruvannamalai.
Working primarily with watercolour and oil, her practice draws from oriental abstraction informed by Eastern philosophy, alongside influences from contemporary Western minimalism. Her work is grounded in the philosophical notion of “Oneness,” understood as an indivisible reality that manifests in all things. Through an emphasis on stillness, silence, and emptiness, her paintings invite a heightened awareness of the present moment. Her work has been presented in a retrospective at the Fundación Antonio Pérez, as well as in solo exhibitions at Kashi Art Gallery and venues including the Embassy of India Berlin. She has also participated in group exhibitions such as the London Biennale and shown work internationally in cities including New York, London, Hong Kong, Belgrade, and Dubai.
